Health Insurance

Family Plans

Health insurance plans that cover multiple family members (e.g., spouse, children) can be seen as an "umbrella" policy because it includes a range of health benefits for everyone under one plan.

ACA plans cover individuals as well as families.

Employer Health Insurance

An employer-sponsored plan might be viewed as an umbrella because it may offer comprehensive coverage, such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, and sometimes even mental health and wellness benefits.

The concept is about bundling various health-related services under one broad coverage to give people more protection and access to a wider range of services.

Medicare Advantage Plans & Similar Policies

Medicare Advantage, also known as Medicare Part C, is a health insurance plan that provides an alternative way to get your Medicare benefits. These plans are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare.

It Combines Medicare Parts A and B Medicare Advantage plans typically cover everything that Original Medicare (Parts A and B) does, including hospital (Part A) and medical (Part B) coverage.

Some plans may also include Part D (prescription drug coverage), so you get all-in-one coverage.

A Medicare Supplement policy, commonly referred to as Medigap, functions in conjunction with Original Medicare. Original Medicare typically covers approximately 80% of approved medical expenses, while Medigap assists in covering the remaining 20%. Eligible individuals may have the opportunity to enroll at various times throughout the year. For further information, please contact our office by telephone or visit us in person.

Supplemental Insurance

Supplemental insurance is a type of insurance policy that provides additional coverage to fill in the gaps of your primary health insurance or other insurance plans. It’s meant to help cover costs that your main insurance might not fully pay for, such as deductibles, copayments, or services not included in the primary plan.

Some common types of supplemental insurance include:

  • Medicare Supplemental Insurance (Medigap)
  • Dental and Vision Insurance
  • Critical Illness Insurance
  • Accident Insurance
  • Hospital Indemnity Insurance

Supplemental insurance is typically optional but can be a good way to protect yourself from high out-of-pocket costs and unexpected medical expenses.
